TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 21-year-old Royalton man was charged Friday with aggravated driving while intoxicated for reportedly being more than twice the legal limit.
New York State Police were dispatched to the Rapids Fire Hall on Plank Road for an intoxicated male sitting in his vehicle. Upon police arrival, the suspect — Cort M. Fry — had left the area but was subsequently located on Riddle Road sitting behind the wheel of his vehicle with the engine running.
Upon observing the arrival of the Troopers, Fry attempted to flee on foot behind the residence. After a foot pursuit, Fry was taken into custody.
Fry reportedly failed field sobriety tests before being transported to SP Lockport for processing which revealed a BAC of 0.19 percent. He is due in Town of Lockport Court on June 9.
