ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
A 52-year-old Lockport man was charged with three counts of assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and criminal mischief Thursday evening by Lockport police.
According to the report, LPD was called to a Genesee Street around address around 7:34 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found a male and a female on the ground and another man ― Robert L. McClain, 318 Walnut St., Apt. 4 — approached patrol saying that the female started the altercation. He had blood on his hands and face.
Police advised McClain to place his hands on the back of the patrol car, but he refused. After several attempts of getting him to comply in vain, patrol subdued McClain with a TASER. Once he was in the back of the patrol car, he became combative again, according to the report, attempting to kick out the windows of the car and threatening patrol.
Twin City Ambulance responded to treat the two people on the ground, as well as a third. They were transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport.
McClain is due in City Court on Monday.
