TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 21-year-old Lockport man was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and other vehicle and traffic infractions.
Daniel T Cole, Jr. was observed westbound on Robinson Road, driving onto the shoulder of the roadway, according to New York State Police. When he was stopped, Troopers detected a strong smell of alcoholic beverage coming from him. Cole, Jr. failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently arrested. Further investigation revealed approximately one gram of marihuana and a glass pipe containing marihuana residue was found.
Cole, Jr. was transported to SP Lockport for processing which revealed a BAC of 0.18 percent, more than twice over the legal limit. He was issued tickets, returnable to the Town of Lockport Court on June 26.
