We here at East Niagara Post cover a lot of news about a lot of topics. Some stories, though, touch our hearts more personally than others. Such was the case of the birth of David James Horton.
David was brought into this world Tuesday, June 9 — nearly four months ahead of schedule. Thanks to the compassion and resilience of Lockport-area first responders, he was given the best chance for survival — being rushed to ENH-Lockport and then again to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo. It was nice to see local law enforcement and volunteer firefighters go above and beyond the call of duty to help David survive against all odds.
Unfortunately, David didn't make it. He passed away early Sunday morning, just a little over four days after being born.
Our hearts go out to David's parents in their time of grief.

My thoughts and healing go out to this young family in this time of grief. May the blessings of time heal their hearts and souls. Their angel will always be with them, but he was too sweet of a flower to bloom here on Earth.
