Cheryl A. Traverse of Newfane, NY wife of Michael Traverse entered into rest on Wednesday June 10, 2015 at the Niagara Hospice House.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on August 6, 1946. Daughter of Marion Buchauer Heim of Newfane, NY and the late Herbert Heim. Cheryl worked as a Councilor at Lyndonville Central School, retiring in 2001. She was a member of Niagara Orleans Counseling Association, NYS United Teachers and enjoyed traveling, gardening and playing softball.

Mother of Michele Capen and Jeremy (Alicia) Traverse both of Newfane, NY. Sister of Richard (Sally) Heim of Norwich, NY, Karen (Jonathan) Van Blargon of Canandaigua, NY, Mary (Stanley) Laskowski of Niagara Falls, NY and the late James and Joseph Heim. Grandmother of Todd and Brittney Capen, Jacob, Madalyn, Jared Traverse and Anthony (Jaime) Sonberg.

Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY 14108 on TUESDAY 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9pm, where a Memorial Service will be held on WEDNESDAY at 10AM. Inurnment will be in Corwin Cemetery.
