BURT — Black Willow Winery wines earned major honors from a national beverage contest and a pair of California wine competitions in May.
According to the winery, their Trilogy Red, "a dry red blend — elegant with light tannins ... has a rich berry character that melds into a symphony of flavors," earned a Silver award at the 2015 Beverage World’s 6th Annual BevStar Awards held in early May 2015.
Bare Cat Blush, a semi-sweet blush with aromas of berry and honeysuckle, won a Gold medal at the 2015 Los Angeles International Wine Competition with 90 points. Odin’s Nectar, traditional honey mead, was awarded a Silver medal, and Trilogy Red rounded out this event’s winners with Bronze. The competition was held May 13-14 in Los Angeles, Calif. and was the event’s 76th wine competition.
Classic Diamond, a light-bodied sweet white wine with a lovely floral aroma took gold at The 2015 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition, held May 23-24th in San Diego, Calif., earning 90 points. Taking home the Silver medal and 88 points was Trilogy Red.
