ENP STAFF REPORTS

Widewaters Drive-in restaurant owner Marty Oliveri says the popular restaurant is not currently on the market, despite its listing on several realty websites.

Oliveri said the listings are old from a time when he had been attempting to sell the property — prior to the 2013 flood.

estate listings showing the restaurant are for sale are outdated.

The Hunt Real Estate and MJ Peterson websites both show that the original listing for the property ― with a sale price of $575,000 — was made in November of 2011. However, both websites also show the property as being for sale currently, as did the Realty USA site referenced in an earlier ENP article. The Unlike Hunt and MJ Peterson, the Realty USA site does not show the property's original listing date.

A year ago, Oliveri was openly discussing plans to re-open the restaurant, but he has run into issues with the city. He wants assurances that more flooding won't occur and says city officials won't give him those assurances.

In his emailed response to East Niagara Post seeking comment on the real-estate listing, Oliveri included a photo of the restaurant showing a sign stating "Closed due to city sewer backup."

  1. Is the owner exempt from the cities grass cutting rules?
