Newfane man charged with cemetery desecration, DWI

A 29-year-old Newfane man was charged with cemetery desecration and DWI this morning by Lockport police after an incident in St. Patrick's Cemetery on Glenwood Avenue.

According to LPD, Chad C. Regling was found early this morning after officer's responded to an accident in the cemetery.  Tire tracks could be observed in the grass traveling through the cemetery where several headstones were damaged or broken off.

Regling, was eventually arrested for DWI, first-degree cemetery desecration, second-degree criminal mischief and several other vehicle and traffic offenses.

He was scheduled for arraignment this morning where the Hon. Judge Bill Watson remanded him to the Niagara County Jail with $20,000 bail.

  2. A bad decision, are you kidding me? This was willful vandalism by an adult. I can hardly believe 29 years old is referred to as a kid.
