ENP STAFF REPORTS

Fifth Ward Alderman Ken Genewick will not seek re-election, he said this evening via a press release.
"It has been an honor serving on the Common Council for the past three terms, while working for and with the residents of the Fifth Ward and the City," Genewick said. "While it is a difficult decision to not seek re-election, I am excited about the opportunity to devote more time to my family and three young children, as well as my professional career."
"We have accomplished a lot in the city during my time on the council, and have brought positive changes to the way we operate and provide services to our residents," he said. "I look forward to working with the Common Council and Mayor McCaffrey for the remainder of my term, and am confident that our city will continue on its path to fiscal stability and becoming a more vibrant community."
Tuesday, Lockport Mayor Anne McCaffrey said she would seek election to a full term as mayor. Mike Pillot has also said he is running for mayor.
Other announcements are expected soon.
