Jane Corwin
Assemblywoman Jane Corwin's annual Western New York Food Drive, which is currently in progress, will be extended to run through the month of May.

Corwin, R-Clarence, says she has been proud to team up with a half dozen food pantries in Erie and Niagara Counties, as well as a number of Erie and Niagara County libraries that will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items throughout the duration of the drive. All of the items donated will go to families here in Western New York.

“I’ve spoken with a number of not for profit and charitable organizations in my district and many food pantries struggle to fill their shelves this time of year," she said. "Following the holiday seasons these organizations run low on supplies. The people of Western New York always come through when helping those in need and by continuing to build awareness for hunger and donating items to help others, we can make a difference in people’s lives.” said Corwin.

“The local libraries in Erie and Niagara counties have been so gracious in their participation and allowing us to use their facilities as donation drop-off locations.” Corwin continued, “We had such great participation for our Winter Coat and Clothing Drive this past December, and it showed the compassion of our community.”

East Niagara drop-off locations include the Newfane Public Library and Lockport Public Library.
