TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Williamsville woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone stole $200 from her car Friday night.
According to the NCSO report, the woman said the cash was stolen while it was parked in the parking lot at the Niagara County Fairgrounds. The woman said that she was at the Niagara County Fairgrounds for the equestrian event being held in the main building and had been in and out of the building earlier in the evening, bringing things from her vehicle into the event. She told patrol that while she was bringing things inside, she did not lock her vehicle between trips but did lock it after she was done bringing things inside.
The complainant told police that her purse was sitting on the driver seat of the vehicle at the time of the larceny and that the cash was taken from her wallet, but nothing else appeared to be missing from her wallet or the vehicle.
She was advised to be diligent about locking the doors to her vehicle at all times, especially when valuable items are left inside. The case is considered closed pending further information regarding the incident.
