BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL).
                               
Ruhwedel (5’11”, 181 lbs., 5/7/90) joins the Sabres for the first time this season. He currently leads all Amerks defensemen with 31 points (8+23) through 59 games in 2014-15 and ranks 12th among all AHL defensemen.

Now in his third season with the Sabres organization, the San Diego, Calif. native has played in 28 NHL games for Buffalo and signed a two-year contract extension with the club in July 2014.

The Sabres are playing the Washington Capitals at First Niagara Center this evening.
