NEWFANE — Two were charged with possession of and growing of marijuana early this morning after the Niagara County Drug Task Force, along with the Niagara County Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Ridge Road.

Michael Berhow, 40, and Tina Krenkel, 37, were both charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful growing of cannabis by an unlicensed person.

According to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour, the Niagara County Drug Task Force had developed information that there was a grow operation at that location.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Newfane Court by Justice Bruce Barnes and remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. They are scheduled to appear in the Town of Newfane Court on March 24.

The investigation is continuing with additional charges pending, according to the Sheriff's office.
