TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 17-year-old Pendleton man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated after New York State Police stopped him for speeding on South Transit Road.
According to the NYSP report, Paul O. Hylkema, was seen speeding, tailgating and unsafely changing lanes while driving northbound on South Transit Road. During the interviewing process, Troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from him and determined him to be intoxicated.
Hylkema was transported to SP Lockport for processing, where he was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent. He was issued tickets for speeding, following too close, moving from lane unsafely and driving out of class in addition to the DWI. He is due in Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
