OLCOTT — A 26-year-old West Main Street man was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday.

According to the NCSO report, Joshua M. Bachman, 5771 West Main St., Upper, was found by a Niagara County Probation officer to have a sandwich bag filled with hypodermic needles and syringes. When asked about the needles Bachman stated they were not his and that a friend must have hidden them there.

The needles were placed into an evidence locker and Bachman was placed into custody. He was taken to Niagara County Jail and held on $500 bail. He is due to appear in the Town of Newfane Court on Tuesday.
