Jack C. Staples
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 24-year-old Lockport man was charged with a Leandra's Law violation by New York State Police.

Jack C. Staples was stopped on South Transit Road for speeding, according to NYSP. During the investigation, Troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. He was determined to be intoxicated and charged with DWI and speeding.

There was an open container of an alcoholic beverage and two small children in the vehicle with Staples, leading to charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated with child, and consumption of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

He was arrested and transported to SP Lockport for processing with a blood alcohol content of .15 percent. He was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
