ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com

East Niagara Post is proud to announce it has been named the official media partner of the Lockport Express.

The Lockport Express Junior A hockey team will host its first playoff series this weekend against the Wilkes-Barre Miners at Lockport's new Cornerstone CFCU Arena, 34 Chestnut St., where the team is based. The Express are the second-ranked team in the NA3EHL's Western Conference, a major feat in the team's inaugural season.

East Niagara Post, a digital news provider based in Lockport, has covered the Lockport Express extensively since it was announced that they would be playing in the new arena. In addition to numerous news stories about the team, it produces a weekly video series called "Catching Up With the Lockport Express," created by contributors Craig Bacon and George Root. ENP has also held ticket giveaway contests to Express games.

"East Niagara Post was the first media outlet to express an interest in working with our program and we are very excited to officially partner with them," said Lockport Express owner Steve Bueme. "They have been great supporters of our program in our inaugural year."

"The staff from ENP has been nothing short of outstanding to work with and has provided our program an avenue to give our fans an insight into how we operate," Express Head Coach and GM Frank Vecchio said. "They have also worked diligently with us to help spread the word about our program and attract the community to support us. We are grateful for the support and look forward to formally building this relationship for years to come.

"I've had so much fun covering the Lockport Express," said Scott Leffler, East Niagara Post news editor. "I'm humbled to think that our coverage led them to consider this partnership."

"We're honored to be named the official media partner of the Lockport Express," said Heather Grimmer, co-publisher for East Niagara Post. "Aside from the Express being a great team on the ice, there's a great team leading the players. Frank Vecchio and Steve Bueme are class acts and consummate professionals. That they chose East Niagara Post for this affiliation is a privilege."

The partnership will cover the remainder of the 2014-2015 season as well as all of the 2015-2016 season. Details of the agreement were not released.
