New York State Police issued 1,390 tickets during the Super Bowl STOP-DWI enforcement on Sunday.
The campaign ran from noon to midnight Sunday, during which New York State Police increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.
Police arrested 31 people for DWI during the 12-hour campaign. They also targeted speeding and aggressive drivers across the state, issuing 408 speeding tickets, 39 tickets for distracted driving, 55 seatbelt violations and 16 move-over law infractions.
