ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A St. Joseph Drive man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone had stolen his identity and used it to obtain a security guard license.
The man told patrol that he had applied for a G4S license so he could work security at General Motors, but was denied because his Social Security number was already used to obtain a security guard license — by someone else.
He said he called the Department of Security to get more information, and all they could tell him was a 22-year-old male obtained a security guard license from 2011-2013 using the St. Joseph Drive man's Social Security number.
The NCSO report says it is unknown whether it was done intentionally or there was a clerical error. If it was done intentionally, it is unknown whether the name used was real or fake.
The complainant told patrol he also went to the Social Security Office in Buffalo to advise them of the incident.
