WRIGHTS CORNERS — A 25-year-old Lockport man is facing harassment charges after a confrontation with a fellow employee at a Ridge Road business.

According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Lee Smith got into a verbal — then physical — altercation with a fellow employee around 5 a.m. Saturday after he heard that employee tell the boss that he was holding up production.

When the other man attempted to get away from Smith, Smith followed him, continuing to yell at him and then shoving him in the chest with both hands. Further, Smith is alleged to threaten the other party and attempt to head butt him.

The complainant said he left work for the day because he worried for his safety and wished to press harassment charges against Smith, who was located and arrested on harassment and menacing charges. He was released on appearance tickets for the Town of Lockport Court with a return date of Feb. 12.
