Virginia C. Meierer passed away January 20, 2015 in Northgate Manor in North Tonawanda.

Born in Plant City, FL on December 3, 1936 she was the daughter of Lester G. and Alma (Gould) Powell. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the Lockport area. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Richard Meierer on August 7, 1997.

Virginia is survived by her children Nelson E. (Cathy) Powell of Lockport, Steven (Shirley) Meierer of Rochester, NY and Cathy (Craig) George of Austin, TX; grandmother of Sharon, Billy, Christopher, Nicholas, Amanda, Bobby, Ricky, Kenidy and Dana; great grandmother of ten; sister of Roy (Sandie) Powell of Euless, TX, Gary Powell of Medina, and the late David Powell; also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 23rd from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24th at 11 AM. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. Memorial donations to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
