NEWFANE — A 42-year-old Newfane Middle School art teacher was charged with forcible touching, according to Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour.
The Sheriff's Office says that Salvatore A. Anello of Niagara Falls was arrested following an investigation into a complaint.
He was arraigned in Newfane Court where bail was set at $1,000 cash or / $2,000 bond and ordered to return to court on Feb. 17.
A letter was sent today from the Newfane School District to parents of students at the middle school. While the letter doesn't name Anello, it does say that a staff member was arrested. (read below)
Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time, the Sheriff's Office said.
