ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Woodlands resident reported Sunday as having been charged with marijuana possession was also charged with driving while intoxicated and numerous other charges, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported this morning.
Eric M. Jones, 38, 474 Chestnut Dr., had been pulled over around 2:29 a.m. Saturday on Robinson Road for an equipment violation.
When deputies asked Jones for his ID, he said he didn't have it on him and gave patrol a false name, according to the NCSO arrest report. They found his wallet on him while performing a search for weapons.
A check of DMV records showed his license to be suspended due to a prior DWI. It also showed that he was required to have an interlock device in his car, which he did not have.
Jones was determined to be intoxicated and charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, false personation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, refusal to take a breath test and the equipment violation, in addition to the possession charge previously listed.
Patrol transported Jones to NCSO jail and bail was set at $750 cash. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport court on Jan. 20.
