Lockport police charged a 44-year-old Bright Street woman with having an open container of alcohol in a moving vehicle early this morning. Further charges are pending after the woman told patrol she had swallowed $20 worth of crack.

According to the arrest report, Melissa L. Rougeaux, 20 Bright St., was charged around 1:21 a.m. with the alcohol violation after the vehicle she was in was stopped for traffic infractions and she was found to be in possession of an open Natural Ice.

While being searched by patrol, Rougeaux was found to have two glass pipes with burnt ends in her bra. She also informed patrol that she had swallowed $20 worth of crack cocaine.

Rougeaux was released on her own recognizance and transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport. The pipes were sent to NCSO for further testing and other charges are pending.
