ENP STAFF REPORTS

WRIGHTS CORNERS — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies charged a 60-year-old Wrights Corners man with DWI Tuesday evening following a three-vehicle crash.
According to the arrest report, Bruce L. Bowman, 3902 Lockport-Olcott Road, Lot 55, had failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Ridge and Lockport-Olcott roads, striking a stopped vehicle.
When patrol attempted to interview Bowman, he did not roll down the window of his vehicle for several minutes and also would not open the door, the report said. When he did open his door, he told patrol that he was not injured and said he hadn't seen that traffic had stopped.
Bowman admitted to having "a few drinks" and was determined to be intoxicated. He tested positive for having had alcohol but refused to take a chemical test to determine the level of alcohol in his system, the report says.
Bowman was taken to Niagara County Jail and held on $750 bail. He is due to report to Town of Newfane Court on Tuesday to answer to the DWI charge as well as speeding and following too closely.
