The wind chill and and cold have caused the closing two local schools and a few area businesses. They include:
- Art & Soul Gift Shop, 247 Market Street
- Barker Chocolate Box
- Christian Academy of WNY
- DeSales Catholic School
- Dyan Mulvey Dance Academy
- Lockport Alliance Church MoPS and AWANA programs
- Lockport City School District (staff to report)
- Market Street Studios, 247 Market Street
- Niagara County Head Start
