BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres winning streak at the First Niagara Center was extended to five games Saturday night as the Blue & Gold beat the Florida Panthers in overtime.
Nikita Zadarov got the game winner just 29 seconds into the extra session. The wrist shot from Tyler Ennis and Zemgus Girgensons was just his second NHL goal.
The Sabres had lead 2-0 in the first before the Panthers came back to tie the game in the second and took the lead in the third. Buffalo's first goal was at 2:06 of the first period by Cody Hodgson, assisted by Patrick Kaleta and Zadorov. Marcus Foligno made is 2-0 at 13:05, assisted by Nicolas Deslauriers and Drew Stafford.
In the second period, Sean Bergenheim made it 2-1 just 1:08 into the period. Brad Boyes was awarded the assist. Jimmy Hayes tied it at 2 at 4:51, assisted by Bergenheim and Dmitry Kulikov.
Florida took the lead with a Jussi Jokinen goal at :57 of the third period. Dave Bolland assisted. Brian Gionta tied it for Buffalo at 8:27, assisted by Tyler Myers and Andre Benoit, setting up the overtime and making the Zadarov game winner possible.

With the win, the Sabres now stand at 12-16-2. They've won seven of their last 10 games.
Their next outing is against the Ottawa Senators at First Niagara Center on Monday.
