BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Tim Schaller from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team has also activated defenseman Josh Gorges from the Injured Reserve list and placed forward Cody McCormick on IR.

Schaller (11/16/90, 6'2", 206 lbs) joins the Sabres for his second career recall since he signed an entry-level NHL contract with the organization in April 2013 as an undrafted free agent. He was also recalled by Buffalo on Nov. 28. While playing in Rochester for the past two seasons, Schaller has appeared in 92 games, recording 33 points (17+16) and 58 penalty minutes.

The Sabres host the Tampa Lightning at First Niagara Center at 7:30 p.m.
