ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Many East Niagara families woke up this Christmas morning without electricity.
Winds overnight knocked down trees, branches and power lines throughout the area.
As of this morning, there are still National Grid customers in Newfane, Wrights Corners, Barker and Rapids waiting on their electricity to be restored. Outages include:
- 41 customers in Newfane near Beebe and Ide roads are expected to be restored around 10 a.m.
- 17 customers in Barker along Quaker Road do not currently have an anticipated restore time.
- Three separate outages in the Gasport area, where a total of 101 customers are without power along Slayton Settlement, Hartland and Rochester roads. National Grid is assessing the condition in all three cases and a restore time has not been announced.
- 171 Rapids customers near Tonawanda Creek and Block Church roads are without power until an undetermined time.
