Philip E. Bartz of Newfane, husband of Connie Mietz Bartz entered into rest on Tuesday December 16, 2014 peacefully at home.

Philip was born in Lockport, NY on May 10, 1942. Son of the late Edward and Thelma Martin Bartz. Philip was the Deputy Highway Superintendent for the Town of Wilson for many years. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church and an exempt member of the South Wilson Fire Co. after 25 years. He loved camping, fishing, farming, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Father of Karen Bartz of Newfane, NY and Kimberly (David) Haak of Lockport, NY. Grandfather of Kaitlynn and Matthew Haak. Brother in law of Carol (Larry) Stroh of Akron, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

No prior visitation. A memorial service will be held on SATURDAY at Concordia Lutheran Church 3121 Beebe Rd. Newfane, NY 14108 at 11:00AM. A private graveside service will be held in North Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Concordia Lutheran Church or Niagara Hospice House 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
