ROYALTON — A 59-year-old Middleport man was charged Sunday with DWI and drug charges.
Arthur P. Pawlowski was stopped by New York State Troopers, who noticed a strong smell of alcohol and then found a a small clear baggie of a white powder substance and pills on him, according to his arrest report. Standardized field sobriety tests were performed, which Pawlowski failed and he was placed into custody. He was transported to SP Lockport for processing and he refused to submit to any chemical tests.
He was charged with criminal possession of a stimulant, driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance, refusal to take breath test, and controlled substance in a non original container.
Pawlowski was arraigned in the Town of Royalton Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash / $5000 bond.
