Interviews for chief of the Lockport Fire Department were briefly scheduled for Tuesday — then canceled when it was determined that the six candidates couldn't all make a Tuesday interview.
Fire Board President Pete Robinson said he tried to put the interview process together on short notice in hopes that the six candidates would all have the time to meet on Tuesday.
"It turned out that it didn't work out," Robinson said. "We just didn't have enough time to give everybody fair notice."
Interviews with the six candidates will now be scheduled for next year, Robinson said.
Until the new chief is selected Capt. Patrick K. Brady will serve as the interim fire chief, a decision that was announced on Dec. 18.
