Katherine L. Zapp of Newfane, NY entered into rest Monday, December 22, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport, NY.

She was born in Lockport, NY, May 27, 1959, the daughter of the late Harold and Rose Rathke Zapp. Katherine worked at Newfane Health Care Facility as a Nurse’s Aide for 20 years. She has lived in Newfane all her life, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ridgewood and the Ladies Aid Society at Church. Katherine enjoyed trips to the Amish country in PA and was known on her John Deere Tractor mowing her lawn and the neighbors.

Sister of Daniel (Gretchen) Zapp of Lockport, NY and William Zapp of Newfane, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY FRIDAY 3-7 PM. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church 7147 Ridge Road Lockport, NY. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church 7147 Ridge Road Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
