A plea offer was rejected Monday in the Niagara County Court case against Shamir Allen, according to court records.
The 19-year-old Allen, who also goes by "DuWop" was charged in August with numerous felony counts relating to two different crimes in the Town of Lockport.
Stemming from a home invasion on Dysinger Road in March of 2013, Allen is charged two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree assault.
In relation to a burglary in on Day Road on April 29, Allen is charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Represented by the Public Defender's Office, Allen pled not guilty to all charges on Aug. 14, a day after he was caught in Rochester by U.S. Marshals with the assistance of the Niagara County Warrants Division.
His trial was to start on Monday, but a plea offer presented and rejected set up a Huntley/Wade Hearing for 2 p.m. Jan. 9 in Matthew J. Murphy's courtroom. The trial is then slated to begin on Feb. 23.
Allen has also been scrutinized by the Lockport Police Department as a "person of interest" in several Lockport crimes and was arrested by LPD four times in 2013 and once earlier this year.
