NEWFANE — An altercation over an Appleton man who was leaning on a car on North Main Street ended with that man being charged with assault.
Austin G. Snyder, 21, 7509 West Somerset Road, was asked four times not to lean on a car before he reached into the car and tried to hit the female driver, according to a Niagara County Sheriff's Office report on the matter, which occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
The driver then exited the vehicle at which point Snyder spit in her face and punched her in the mouth, the NCSO report said.
When patrol arrived, Snyder was charged with third-degree assault and taken to Niagara County Jail, where he was held on $250 bail. Snyder was given an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Newfane Court on Tuesday
