TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Williamsville woman stopped in the parking lot of NOCO on South Transit Road for having a broken mirror and invalid inspection sticker was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license Thursday afternoon.
According to the NCSO arrest report, Ariana Marie Cozzolino, 24, 38 The Commons, Williamsville, told patrol that she knew about the inspection and stated that the vehicle would not pass the inspection because of the broken mirror. She also admitted to patrol that her license was suspended. When she went to get it out of her wallet, patrol observed a partial wrapper that is typically associated with Suboxone.
Cozzolino could not provide proof of a Suboxone prescription and was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, as well as having a controlled substance in non-original container. She was issued a traffic ticket for the inspection violation, charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and allowed to call a licensed driver to the scene to take her vehicle.
She was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Lockport Court on Nov. 13. The controlled substance was confiscated and submitted to the NCSO Forensic Laboratory for evidence/analysis.
