The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow advisory through 1 p.m. today.
The advisory covers all of Niagara County.
During the advsory period, snow accumulations of three to six inches are possible with heavy snow drifts toward the lake. Visibility is expected to be less than a quarter mile at times.
According to the advisory issued, "a brief burst of heavy snow will create snow-covered roads and poor visibility. Motorists should prepare for rapidly changing road and weather conditions.
