Downtown Lockport's annual Christmas extravaganza — Christmas on the Canal — will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Nov. 29 at various downtown locations.

Schedule of events:
- 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: Complimentary light, continental breakfast. Children K-5 Only. First floor Historic Post Office – 1 East Avenue.
- 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Lockport Tacky Sweater Run, beginning at the Historic Palace Theatre, 2 East Ave. $20 registration until Wednesday. $25 day of the run. For more information or to register online, visit www.lockportpalacetheatre.com or call 438-1130.
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Holiday Open House at Pallister House Florist, 41 East Ave. Cider, Cookies and Door Prizes.
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Holiday Open House at Mills Jewelers, 51 Main Street. Holiday Cookies and Hot Chocolate. Be entered to win a drawing for $100 Gift Card if you start a wish list that day.
- 10 a.m.: Free Movie - “Elf” at the Historic Palace Theatre. All are requested to bring a non-perishable food item.
- 11:45 a.m.: Coloring contest awards & the lighting of the Christmas Tree on stage at the Palace Theatre. Coloring contest sheets must be returned to the Palace Theatre no later than Wednesday to be entered in the contest.
- Noon to 1 p.m.: Pep up with Pizza at Papa Leo’s. Free slice of pizza at the Lockport location, 36 Main Street.
- Children receive a gift from the Treasure Chest
- Photos with Santa
- Frosty, Rudolph and Gingerbread Boy mingling with the children
- Horse and carriage rides, start in front of the theater.
- Tony Weiland, Magician – 2 shows: 1:00 to 1:45 and 2:00 to 2:45.
- Balloon Clown 12:30 to 2:30 pm.
- Crafts for children at the Lockport Public Library, 23 East Avenue.
- Nativity Display, kids crafts, and refreshments at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Avenue.
- “Reindeer Games” in the gym at the Lockport Family YMCA, 19 East Avenue.
- Cocoa and Cookie Decorating at Emma Rose Tea Parlor/Barker Chocolate Box, Historic Post Office, 1 East Avenue. $1 per person. Space is limited. First come, first served.
- Tour of Fire Station on the half hour, Lockport Municipal Building, One Locks Plaza.
- Medina Railroad Museum’s model of Thomas the Tank Engine with Conductor Butch at Ticklebridge, Bewley Building, 12 Market Street.
- Free Kids Craft Activity/Prizes courtesy of the Lockport High School Interact Club in the lobby of the Bewley Building.
- Cookies, Coffee, and Special Discounts at the Warehouse Gift Shop, 60 Chestnut Street.
- 2 to 4 p.m.: Autograph signing with Joe DeLamielleure from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Former Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame and Pro-Football Hall of Fame will sign autographs at the Niagara County Sheriff’s Association, 20 Market Street. First Autograph is free; any additional autographs are $5 each.
- 2 to 6 p.m.: Historic Homes Holiday Tours. Take a stroll through some of Lockport’s Historic Homes. Tickets are $25. This is a pre-pay/pre-register event. Tickets can be purchased the Palace Box Office, Mills Jewelers, or online at www.lockportpalacetheatre.com.
- 3 to 4 p.m.: Frosty Free Skate at the Cornerstone Ice Arena, 34 Chestnut Street. First come, first serve. Limit 200 people. Bring your own skates. Limited rentals will be available for $3 per person.
- 6 p.m.: 3rd Annual Lighted Christmas Parade. Parade will begin at Ida Fritz Park and end at Charles Street.
- Immediately following the parade: Tree lighting on top of the Palace Marquee.
- 7:15 p.m.: Free Movie - “The Polar Express” at the Historic Palace Theatre.
