Alfred W. Mittelstadt of Appleton, NY husband of Irene Kress Mittelstadt entered into rest Saturday, November 1, 2014 in VA Hospital, Buffalo, NY.

He was born in Olcott, NY November 21, 1930, the son of the late Alfred A. and Jeannette Malcolm Mittelstadt. He was a veteran of the US Army. Alfred married Irene Kress March 18, 1953. He was a bricklayer by trade and worked for several construction company and was self employed. Alfred has lived all of his life in the Newfane area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and gardening.

Father of Alfred Mittelstadt of Appleton, Kathleen Breidert of Newfane and Mary Jo (Robin Bars) McDonold of Lockport. Brother of Sandy (Bill) Smith of New Hampshire and the late Helen Fulcher, Gloria Tripp and Gary Mittelstadt. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

No prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held WEDNESDAY, November 5, 2014 at 4:00 PM at RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main Street Newfane, NY 14108  (716-778-7022). In lieu of flowers, memorials to Jehovah's Witnesses 6452 Charlotteville Rd Newfane, NY 14108.
