TOWN OF LOCKPORT — The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office and the Niagara County Department of Social Services announced today that in the month of September, their combined efforts combating welfare fraud resulted in the arrest of seventeen individuals and yielded a savings to Niagara County taxpayers of $45,996.56.
So far this year, welfare fraud investigations have recovered/saved Niagara County $269,562.06, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
