TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 55-year-old Lockport man was charged Sunday with driving drunk with a minor in the car.
According to New York State Police, Darryn M. Garvin, 22 Van Buren St., was stopped on South Transit Road when Troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from him. He was given standard field sobriety tests, which he failed and he was subsequently arrested. Garvin had a 13 year old with him.
He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, acting in manner injurious to a child under 17, moving from a lane unsafely and driving without a license.
Garvin was processed at SP Lockport with a BAC of 0.12 percent and was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and was remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash/$2,000 bond.
