Katherine E. DeGroodt passed away on Sunday October 26, 2014. Born in Buffalo on April 3, 1950, she was the daughter of the John Melisz of Lakeview, NY and the late Mary (nee Vera) Melisz. Katherine was a Instrument repairer at Aero Instruments and Avionics, Inc., in North Tonawanda for 20 years, retiring in 2010.  She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Beside her father, Katherine is survived by her husband of 31 years, Paul DeGroodt; mother of George Stauber and David Stauber; sister of Diane (Paul) Nester, Jane Coggins, John (Karen) Melisz Jr. and Mary (Richard) Tillery.  Katherine is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday October 28th, 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, with a Vigil Service at 8 PM.
