ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
The best Bavarian food and music is promised for Oktoberfest fom 6-10 p.m. Oct. 18 at Wrights Corners Fire Company. The evening’s celebration benefits education programs of the Niagara History Center.
Donna Eick will present a buffet of German food, including all the traditional old-fashioned favorites guests loved at past Oktoberfests, including sauerbraten, bratwurst, roast pork, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, German potato salad, chef salad and more, including dessert. Beer and soft drinks will also be available for purchase from the cash bar.
Guests will dance to the music of The Frankfurters, an authentic Bavarian-Swiss band, whose music and instruments are always a delight. Drawing on centuries-old traditions, the Frankfurters pull out all the stops, presenting colorful and exciting German entertainment. Count on them to play hand-carved wooden Swiss alphorns, singing-saw and Alpine bells.
Tickets for Oktoberfest, including German music and dinner to benefit the History Center, are $35. Tickets are advance sale only; They will not be sold at the door. For reservations, call 434-7433 or stop by the History Center, 215 Niagara St., or Discovery Center, 24 Church St.
