SOMERSET — Numerous fire companies were put on standby to possibly attend to an oil fire that began at the AES power plant shortly before 6 p.m.
Fire companies on standby include Olcott, Gasport Chemical Hose, and Barker. Miller Hose was ordered to standby for potential EMS at the plant, 7725 Lake Road.
A few minutes after 6 p.m. the oil was said to be out but smoldering. At 6:15 p.m., the fire was reported as having been "knocked down."
