TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Buffalo man was charged with drug possession after Niagara County Jail officials say they found him with cocaine in the jail.
Mykel M. Davis, 24, 111 Welker St., Buffalo, was found to be in possession of three suspected bags of cocaine during a strip search according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Davis admitted to jail staff that the white powdery substance was indeed cocaine.
He was transported to the Town of Lockport Court for arraignment by Judge Ankowiak and charged with first-degree promoting prisoner contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Judge Ankowiak set a $5,000 bail and he was remanded back to the Niagara County Jail.
The suspected cocaine field tested positive and was secured in evidence lockers for further testing. He is set to appear in the Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
