OLCOTT — A 49-year-old Snyder man died after being found unresponsive in Lake Ontario just west of the Olcott Harbor.
According to a press release from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, they had responded to a report of an overturned vessel around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. Rescue teams were dispatched and Olcott Volunteer Fire Company's rescue boat located Christian D. Gothen unresponsive. He was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing by the NCSO Marine Division and NCSO Criminal Investigation Bureau.
