TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Tudor Lane man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies.
According to the arrest report, Rico L. Freeman, 30, 115 Tudor Lane, Apt. 4, was stopped by patrol around 11 p.m. Monday on Lincoln Avenue.
"As patrol interviewed the driver he could detect a strong odor or marijuana coming from inside the car," the report said. Rico said he had some in his pocket, which patrol took. Also in his pocket was a digital scale.
"As patrol looked at the scale he observed white powder on the inside of the scale," the report said.
Freeman was also found to be in possession of four cellular phones and $850.
He was issued a traffic ticket and an appearance ticket for Town of Lockport Court for unlawful possession of marijuana. Patrol seized the digital scale and is sending it to the Niagara County Forensics Laboratory for further testing of the white powder. Charges will be pending the outcome of the test.
