Lockport CARES is holding an open house and garage sale from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 13 at 192 Genesee St.
Guided tours of Lockport CARES Homeless Shelter will be offered at various times during the two days. As the organization approaches its fifth year of service to the community, they are anticipating the arrival of their thousandth shelter guest.
There will also be tours of the Kahler Transitional House next door at 188 Genesee St. and opportunities to meet their new Kahler House Resident Assistant, Mike Hill.
There will also be a chowder sale and other refreshments
