ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — The staff of Niagara Hospice took the Ice Bucket Challenge Friday at their headquarters on Sunset Drive.
Challenged by the Odd Fellow & Rebekah recreation department among others, Hospice passed the challenge on to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Schoellkopf, Opportunities Unlimited and the Lockport Elks.
Vice President of Hospice Services, Kay Dekker said, “Our Hospice staff members work with many patients who have ALS and know firsthand the devastating effects of this disease. It is a privilege to support such a worthy cause and to help draw attention to the need for further research to find a cure.”
Ice Bucket Challenge videos have taken over social media. Already, the ALS Association has received $31.5 million in donations compared to $1.9 million in the same time period last year.
