Three Lockport teenagers were apprehended by Lockport Police late Wednesday night and accused of breaking a change machine at a city laundromat and stealing the money inside.

According to the LPD incident report, patrol responded to Chestnut Street Laundromat, 203 Chestnut St., for a report of three males breaking into the coin machine inside the building.

"Upon arrival, patrol observed three black males breaking into the machine using a crow bar," the LPD report states. "Once the suspects observed patrol, they ran out of the building towards East Avenue."

Patrol yelled for the three males to stop, but they continued to flee and a foot pursuit ensued. Two of the males were quickly located and taken into custody. The third was located a short time later. The youths were given juvenile appearance tickets and turned over to their guardians.

Four crow bars were found on scene and placed into evidence along with surveillance video footage.

The case was turned over to the detective division.
